Why I did it...

Thu Dec 2, 2004, 8:01 PM
"So I'm on messenger tonight and a DAer who doesn't often submit and who's art I've never seen comes on. He tells me he's horny and needs some of what's in my icon. (It is my body, my hand between my legs, I'm naked). I tell him thanks but I can't help him with that. He continues by telling me that masturbation is one of his favourite sexual acts."

What else would you expect? You display yourself like a cheap whore and you think men are going to treat you like a lady? Wow, you have some fucked up ego. What did you expect someone with his mentality would say? What did you expect any guy would say or think? " I believe this piece here illustrates the grace and beauty of the female body, it accents perfectly the intricacies of their inner workings"? NO! You are stimulating one of the most primal urges in a man. When you see your page views and your favorities do you think they are there because you a great artisit? More closer to the truth is that most of those page views come from sick online stalkers and pedophiles that want to get something out of your work. Most of the favorites you get are from perverts who want to save your picture on their page so they can come back to it again. There is nothing wrong with guy, he;s treating exactly the way you should be and deserve to be treated. I wish more men had the guts to treat peope like you the way you deserve, that way it'll make people like you think twice before posting yourself like this.

"I say nothing and he then asks me what are mine. I tell him that I have a boyfriend and if he's only there to troll then I'm not the best person to speak to because I'm in a monogamous relationship. He says to me, "But you post naked pictures on the internet."

His reasoning is closer to the norm than you think. Although this maybe a rare occasion to you, it happens all the time to others. And most of the people who leave "polite" comments behind are most likely thinking the same thing he is saying. So if you think that his reaction is not common, think again. And also how much respect does your boyfriend have for you for doing something like this? I wouldn't think any man would respect a woman who displays herself in such a way. He'd probably loose his temper after the fifth guy today asked you to come with him into the next room so he can fuck the descency out of you. Really people like you are no better than public facilities. EVery man unzipps does his bussiness and leaves for the next man to relieve himself.

"I take a deep breath and explain to the poor boi that even though I post pictures on the internet doesn't mean I'm up for anything and what I submit is for art not porn."

I am going to take a deep breath and explain to you, poor slut. You may not be "up for anything" by your definition, but most people will percieve "well if she would so easily display and present herself like that then she must be loose and slutty.

"He tells me it makes him hard and therefor is porn."

:sigh:

*hit block*

por·nog·ra·phy ( P ) Pronunciation Key (pôr-ngr-f)
n.

1. Sexually explicit pictures, writing, or other material whose primary purpose is to cause sexual arousal

So by definition he is accurate to rate your work as pornography. If you printed out your work and cut a bunch of pictures out of a playboy and mixed them up do you think anyone could tell the difference? How well can you explain this to your children, if you ever have any? Do you think the excuse will weigh heavily when they say, "well I got my ass kicked at school when heard someone call my mom a slut" "Why did they call her a slut?" "Because they found naked pictures of her online, they said they want to be my daddy and beat the shit out of me when I interrupt them fucking my mom". How does your parents feel about your pictures. How does your grandparents feel about the fact that their granddaughter is naked all over the internet. How does your boyfrineds parents feel about their son dating someone who wants to post pornographic shots of herself online? If he were my son I'd call him a morron for thinking a slut like that would ever be faithfull for long.

"I know because I submit these types of pictures that I open myself up to comments like this...it's just, in the 6 or so months I've been active on DA (through my ~kinkbunny account) I've not come across any."

Once again this guy probably had enough guts to be honest with you. And you got the reality of it. Post yourself like this on an online site where billions of people can get access to your gallery and they can do whatever they want with it. For all you know half of your gallery has been ripped off and is being used in a cheap porno rag somewhere. Or some sick freak has dozens of 8x10 glossies of your work printed out and pasted all over the walls of a room he likes to go to and obsess over.

"So I'm going to open up the polls...
Do you think what I do is considered to be porn or art? (Stock can be your answer to). I am resigned to not being offended by anybody's honesty. By all means, tell me what you think? And an"ybody who reads it, please, if you're offended offer your opinion but as I'm requesting complete honesty, please respect those who are honest and say they think it's porn."

It's pornography, if you need to ask people this question after having someone tell you all this over im then your not very bright. In fact in the larger scale of art communities, Deviant Art is considered as a porno site. Travel to any other online art communtiy and search on forum topics or even ask members what they think of deviant arts nude section and they'll flat out say, "it's nothing but cheap amatuer porn". I know I've browsed other art communities myself. Deviant Art is nothing but a joke to these other online communities. And Scott Jarkoff himself, he won't do anything about it. Why? Because it's porno models like you who shake their ass at the camera and post it on deviant art, pathetic losers who make it popular and request it to be a print and by it so they have something to "love on". Meanwhile jark is sitting back and soaking up the profits while your getting sexually harrassed for your work. Whats gonna happen when the situation you just encountered escalates further? What happens when someone like that guy who immed you got your personal address, phone number, or other sensitive types of information? Are you gonna go to Deviant Arts Staff? Or maybe Jark? They're not gonna do anything about it. Deviant Art does nothing about online stalking, infact they promote it. They promote it with the activity button, and they promote it themselves by abusing the activity button. You sold your body to deviant art and they can do anything they want with it, and sell it to whoever they want to.

"A supporting agument for your opinion would be much appreciated..."

Here's some good supporting arguements for you.

Sorry excuses for women like you is why decent women and children get beaten and raped.

Several studies have proven it to be fact that the selling of the human body promotes rape, molestation and sexuall abuse. A good example is, states and countries were any type of nude or sexually explicit material is prohibited, sex crimes are down 90%. By posting yourself nude online you are contributing to sexual molestation and abuse.

hi, i never met you but came into your site accidently. honestly i don't get into other people's stock photography because i think its cheating. anyway, when i got there, all i saw was this enormous journal called why i did it. i must say that it was one of the best journal entries i've read in a really long time. i hope that by taking down your photos, you'll be able to concentrate more on the people who are truly important to you, that you'll not be hindered by this site in any way, shape or form. i pray that if you are still with your boyfriend, your relationship will grow double what it was before you took down your pictures. i hope that when your children grow up, while they grow up, the scenario you played out never is one that you or your family are faced with. i think its an incredibly admirable thing that you've taken your work down, and i agree with you 100% about the pornography of nude art. i'm a guy. i know art. i know pornography. sometimes the lines can easily be crossed. because i never saw your stock account when it was active, i can't say one or the other for your stuff, but i will say that it can be very difficult to tell the difference. furthermore, i would be a liar to say that artistic nude shots have never turned me on. its an unavoidable thing as a 22 year old guy. i'm young, horny, and that's that. i have to live with that. i try to keep myself from situations where i'll be tempted, but i'm always stumbling. your journal entry was a breath of fresh air for me. to see a stock photographer turn a 180 like that is fantastic. stock photographers for the most part are laughed at anyway, for their own inability to create anything good. (not saying you were or not. like i said, i never saw your stuff) but what a refreshing thing to read. although the other responses to this journal were not supportive in your decision, i believe you are thinking with a clear mind, probably for the first time in a long time. i wish you many blessings in your future, and congratulations on your decision to do what you believe is right.

Oh no! Where are your wonderful inspirational images? I just completed a painting from yet another one of your stock images and I came to get the link so I could give you credit and everything is gone :( :( I REALLY hope you decide to bring them all back (and more maybe?). I've now done two paintings inspired by your photos and I have at least one more in the works.

If you want to see my latest painting it's here: [link]
